Virgo and Scorpio

“Pain, horror and grievances are recycled through history until we find ways to expose and accept them, truly listen to them, while also finding out where and when they are taking place, releasing them and transforming their destructive power into healing intentions.” (Franco Santoro, Sun in Virgo, Moon in Scorpio)

The Sun is in Virgo and the Moon is in Scorpio from 8.53 GMT, 30 August 2014, to 17:17 GMT, 1 September 2014. This is the binary Virgo/Scorpio (6.8).

Virgo/Scorpio is a blend of mutable Earth and fixed Water, mixing Virgo’s efficiency, purification, selection and service with Scorpio’s intensity, intimacy, passion, release and power.

Four days after the exact New Moon in Virgo, the Lunar path moves in the second half of the Crescent Moon, or Sowing Moon. The exact Crescent Moon occurs when the Sun in Virgo and the Moon in Scorpio are 45° apart  (Sun sextile Moon).  Significant elements of the potential of the New Moon continue to emerge. It is a planning phase, aimed at gathering information and getting ready to take action according to the intention established during the New Moon. At this stage our abstract or visionary ideas come to terms with ordinary reality. The question here is: “How can I communicate my intention in ways understandable in the everyday reality? What can I practically do in order to implement my intention?”

Virgo/Scorpio is one of the most intense and challenging couples, for it combines an elaborate and refined mind with an implacable emotional charge, often operating covertly, behind the curtains and unconsciously. Depending on the intention of this emotional force, Virgo/Scorpio activate either deep healing processes or devastating effects. There is an obscure and cryptic setting functioning at the core of this binary, which adamantly promotes genuine healing in a wider, collective sense, even at the cost of the promoter's destruction and unhappiness. Behind the appearance of a quiet and organised setting, a hidden volcano is in constant fermentation, causing Virgo/Scorpio to be very magnetic, attracting  a wide range of feelings. These are often mere projections, since Virgo/Scorpio bring practical and detailed awareness of whatever is hidden or unconscious in any environment. If there is transparency and openness to explore the shadow sides, this can lead to major transformations and expansion of awareness. If this is not the case Virgo/Scorpio may lose the sense of reality, becoming the victim of its emotional cauldron, manipulating and being manipulated, making life very hard for itself and others. Whatever the case Virgo/Scorpio tend to be extremely hard, especially on itself, often blaming oneself for the smallest failure, including those of others, and living with an ongoing Judas complex. Hence it may benefit from this piece of advice:

“Whatever people do, feel, think, or say, don't take it personally. If they tell you how wonderful you are, they are not saying it because of you. You know you are wonderful. It is not necessary to believe other people who tell you that you are wonderful. Don't take anything personally. Even if someone got a gun and shot you in the head, it was nothing personal. Even at that extreme.” - The Four Agreements, Miguel Ruiz, Sun in Virgo, Moon in Scorpio.
