My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose That’s newly sprung in June

This is the centre piece we used today (18 June 2011) for our workshop The Original Quest: An Astroshamanic Voyage through Time and Space, at the Findhorn Foundation, Cluny Hill College (Scotland).

We concluded the session with the words of Robert Burns' (1) song, "My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose"

This song is devoted to you, beloved reader, and to the Red Rose that springs in the June of your life, on the eve of the Summer Solstice (see article at: http://astroshamanic.blogspot.com/2011/06/summer-solstice-being-in-love-by-franco.html).

See text below, followed by the song sung by Andy M. Stewart.

O my Luve's like a red, red rose
That’s newly sprung in June;
O my Luve's like the melodie
That’s sweetly play'd in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I:
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry:

Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun:
I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.

And fare thee well, my only Luve
And fare thee well, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho’ it were ten thousand mile.
